A Look at My May Events

Almost end of the month events recaps for this month of May:

I finally have my part-time job.

I was so clueless on my first day which was just the other day. I did the salad and coffee part for my first 2-hour shift and went to packing meals. I’ve known a couple people in my area, just not everyone as there’s quite a handful of people around. That was just my 4-hour shift. My next work schedule isn’t until next Friday. Not to say I’m not excited, it’s just that I don’t think it’s something I really want to do for the time being. But hey, it’s good to busy anyway.

2. I did my first hike of the year with a friend at Quarry Rock, North Vancouver.

Joe and I just decided we’d go for a hike and we did! It was so amazing. Even though, we just commuted all the way to North Vancouver for about 1 and a half hour—for her—and about 3 hours—for me. Then, we were stunned by the beauty of the lake when we got to the Panorama Park. Such incredible view! We brought lunch and had our lunch by the lake/beach, not sure if it was a beach or a lake. Anyway, after the lunch with a view, we began our hike to the Quarry Rock. It was a 45 minute hike to the top. I actually thought it was gonna be longer, but alas, we made it less than an hour. And goodness, the view was breathtaking! I feel like jumping of the cliff, but that would be stupid. Haha! Gosh, what a stupid thing to say. Anyway, I guess it was called Quarry Rock because you get to see the whole view under the big rocks at the edge of the mountain. You’ll see bits of islands in front of the mountain and the buildings far ahead in the DT Vancouver. At that moment, how I wish my family were seeing the same thing because they would all love it especially my mom and baby sis. Soon.

3. I cooked at least 5 Filipino dishes this month.

Yep. I cook now. It’s just me and my grandma living in a 2 bedroom condo unit and she’s not a good cook either! Hahaha. I basically have no choice but to cook for myself and for her too. Good thing Tacky guides me all the way for every dish that I make. I don’t think I’d survive cooking if no one was guiding me. Gosh! I don’t love cooking, but I don’t exactly hate it either. That’s why working in the kitchen area is not very appealing to me but it’s not something that I would say no to instantly.

I DON’T HAVE ANY BEST ACHIEVEMENT. LOL okay what can I talk about here…I guess the fact the I had traveled and visited great states in the United States while working on my own was something that I am proud of. For a year, it was like I was having my gap year. I was working, learning and earning! Now, I’m off to another adventure and hopefully the beginning of my career. I’ll be sharing my next agenda in a few months. 🙂

This hobby is pretty embarrassing but not uncommon. I make dialogues and scenarios in my head and execute it in front of the mirror mostly, but pretty much anywhere as long as it’s just me myself and I. Sometimes, it’s automatic that I just found myself blabbering random made up stuff it’s making me cringe. Now, ya’ll probably be thinking like yo this is not a secret hobby this is you being crazy. Well, obv it’s a secret because no one knows about it and it sure as hell a hobby if I do it every single day. 😹

Basically, one of my aims for this month is to successfully finish this 30-day word prompt. Another, I am finally starting my own vlog channel you guys! I can’t contain my excitement. I ordered the camera last week and it’s coming next week. So that’s another thing to look forward to this month: to get my hands on Canon G7 mark II. I really feel like I will do better in this vlogging thing because ever since I was a kid I have been capturing videos and editing them. I must have gotten this hobby from my dad. Hmm. One thing I got from him that I’m thankful. 👍🏻

Neglecting my blog no more. I know I have been absent for the last couple of weeks. So here’s a recap. We visited South Korea for ten days. We were just in Seoul the whole time. It was still pretty cold although it’s Springtime already. Also, it’s been a month since I was experiencing severe coughing so I had myself checked up and found out my asthma has returned. I haven’t used Nebulizer since I was a little kid. I can’t even remember it anymore. So no more inhaling vape shit or shisha. I’m done. What else? Hmmm. Oh. I cut my own hair and had a fringe. Happened on a night when I had nothing to do. Picked a scissor. Opened Youtube. And cut cut cut cut. Hahaha. Turns out…Best DIY ever that has happened to me. I guess it suits me. Now, it’s me and my bangs every single day that I have to take care of. But mostly, I just clip my fringe up if I don’t feel like letting it loose down. It’s a bothersome and requires too much effort. I don’t have the patience to fix my hair all the time.

I guess that’s just it. Hihi. Babush!

You know I sometimes spend my time reading life and love quotes and finding myself falling deeply in love with the moment. Then, I would argue to myself how just reading it makes me feel amazing; how much more in real life,right? I would feel so hopeful about love at the same time so sad I’d cry. But then just right after I’m done reading all the sappy quotes, all the drama and dreamy emotions die w/ the moment too. The same feeling you get when you try to remember the dream you’ve had the other night—the more you try to chase the memory the more it goes away. That exact feeling. And somehow, it’s sad for me that I can’t even hold on to that sentiment. I feel hopeless, whenever.

Things I Look Forward To

Hello guys! Sorry for the short posts lately, I was not really inspired. I just wanted to say how hyped I am with what’s happening to me these past few weeks and for what’s gonna happen for the next couple of weeks. Here let me list down the things I’m looking forward to:

March

1. I-LEAD

Tomorrow will be the announcement for the qualified candidates to attend the 5-day leadership program in D.C. We wrote an essay about a leadership topic and then that’s it. I hope I get the chance to participate and if not, then better luck next time.

2. Phone

I also bought a new phone—don’t worry it’s not that expensive—for a few reasons. First, I want it. LOL I need not to buy a new phone but I figured I deserve a new few things especially I’m earning my OWN money. 🙂 Second, my current iPhone is locked so I couldn’t use any carrier here on the U.S. so not net which is really hard and complicated sometimes. Lastly, my phone’s starting to crank up since I’ve had it for three years now.

3. Phone Cases

I bought this adorable fur case, sticker, and wine case for my phone. I love it and I may have splurged on it but who cares.

April

1. Night Nation Run

This I cannot truly wait! It’s a 1st running music festival, you know, DJ’s be playing while you’re running at every station and at the end of the musical voyage there’s gonna be like a big party or something. It’s going to be so much fun, don’t you think so?! I’m doing it with Sheena so we better be ready to run a 5K.

3. Moving in with a new family

I’m gonna be moving out to this crappy house, finally! Oh my god, you guys don’t know anything but I have been living in a hell for months now. People here are so noisy, weird, and I don’t know if they’re even human. Possibly not! I mean like how can someone be so insensitive and play their music so fucking loud in morning and before freaking sleep time. Oh yesterday morning, I was still sleeping and dreaming when suddenly there’s this music blaring to the point where I thought I was dreaming about it then I woke up. Oh my gosh, so fucking rude damn it. DIEEEEEEE!

4. Indiana

State visit wohooo!

5. Lighthouses visit

My friend, who also happened to be an intern, planned this trip to visit the Lighthouses nearby Chicago—I’m not sure. Actually, there’s this CHI Squad that we created and the members are all interns from across the world. We kinda go together to different places when we had the chance. So now this trip, probably we’ll go the weekend after the run. Whew, my weekends are full!

May

1. St. Louis, Missouri

Spending a 3-day vacay in that state doing sightseeing and camping with CHI Squad. 🙂

2. Washington, D.C.

If I’m qualified for the program, then I can go to the capital of the United States. *fingers-crossed*

June

1. Duh, my birthday!

Seriously if you guys have any plans on staying here on the U.S. for more than a month, just make sure you’re not under 21 or else you’re gonna miss most of the fun—I mean if you’re aggressive like me.😂🙄 SO FINALLY, I’m turning 21! Did you guys know about wearing a sash and a crown when turning 21? No? Well it’s a thing here, maybe I should do it lol. 😏

2. Niagara Falls

Still pending. But would it not be amazing to see the grand scenery of Niagara Falls?!

Haven’t bought tickets we’re still thinking about it. Psyched!

1. Lollapalooza

It’s amazing how the tickets sold out fast. I had to wait for like two hours just to get past through the front gate and buy the tickets. But this is so far my most awaited event. I’m so ready! 💁🏼

2. Coldplay Concert

Sheen and I bought tix for their concert. We were aiming for a JB or Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato concert but the tickets were soaring and mostly were sold out anyway. Let’s rock! Lol okay they’re not exactly a rock and roll band. 😂 But hey, they’re not that bad.

3. Foam Glow 5K

Another run. Hell yeah! Sheena and I are a serious runner. 😂

4. Las Vegas, Nevada

O.M.G. I’m 21 by that time! 😏 NYEHHEHHHEHEHHEHEHE 😈 Need I say more? And what’s great about us going there, it’s a company paid. There is this CPE convention that accountants should attend in Vegas but who says we’re required to attend that boring lecture? Lol hopefully boss won’t require us to attend the lecture and let me and Sheena wander around the Sin City. Also, there is going to be a night/ball event or something because it’s our boss’s wedding anniversary. Grand, I know!

5. Page, Arizona

We might drive by the Antelope Canyon when we go to Las Vegas if we have chance.

Fat and Sad

I am so taking back what I said yesterday about writing everyday. I’m so freaking lazy lol. Last night, I talked to mom via Skype and she was like you’re so fat already and I was like I know I should just resort to using pills lol and she was like are you crazy. Hmm should I? I kennot. HUHUHU I blame the cruel weather in this windy city! I can’t even go out without my coat. In fact now that I think about it, I haven’t gone out without layers since I came here. I just keep telling myself today that tomorrow would be the last day of the week again. I can do this. I’m homesick too. 😦 I’m thinking of visiting my country this Summer but idk I’m not sure yet. *sigh*

Weirdest thing today is happening. My music’s on shuffle play and every song playing reminds me of him. I mean it’s like my damn phone knows exactly where to hit me.

Anyhow, I wanna start this thing called 100 Happy Days—it’s an eon thing I know haha. I won’t be doing the exact thing but maybe just write stuff about everyday. I was thinking maybe I won’t have titles like Day 1…Day 100, you know, cause that’s too mainstream. I will put those on my tags tho—you can see them at the left side of every post—for me to at least keep track of the days left. At the same time it will be my countdown until my last day here in Chicago. So expect to see me posting random shits here everyday lol.

You try so hard but it still haunts you.

Late Nights

I’ve always been an early bird not a night owl. I find it hard to keep my eyes open when it’s past my bedtime (10pm) let alone pull an all-nighter. Tho there are times when I really need to sleep late like when there are finals week or a due project.

I’m proud to say now that I’ve achieved a week of sleeping past 12. Ha-ha. Though it’s not because of due projects or anything school stuffs but because of talking to my friends. Absurd, right? It’s not like they’re long distance or what. I can see them practically everyday. Every night, we vchat through Skype or if there’s many of us we used Oovoo. 😀 We couldn’t get enough of each other. Lol. And then on the morning(we’re classmates even), we talked about the night before.

It’s finals week again and tonight as tempting as it is to open and chat my friends, I can’t because I need to sleep and rest for tomorrow. So now, good night everyone and I’ll be drifting to dreamland. Sleep tight. Don’t let the bedbugs bite. 😉

Platonic Love
